Laser Cut Your Own Acrylic Phone Stand

<p>Join the Maker + STEAM team to use the <a href="https://durhamcountylibrary.org/technology/laser-cutter/">laser cutter</a> to <strong>engrave and cut</strong> an acrylic phone stand in a small group learning environment with hands-on help! We will use our materials and provide materials for<em> one acrylic phone stand per registrant</em>. Come ready with a roughly 2" x 2" engrave design idea, a .jpg or .png of your design image via cloud storage, or just curiosity and we will have a few templates to choose from as well.</p> <p>This small-group atmosphere will help introduce you to the laser cutter in a welcoming setting and show you the process of completing a laser cut project to help you prepare for when you reserve the laser cutter on your own in the future.</p> <p><strong>Registration is required. </strong>Participants will need to sign a safety waiver when in the makerspace. (This program is open to teens and adults. Teens under the age of 18 must have a guardian/parent present to sign the waiver.)</p> <p>We also ask that you take the <a href="https://my.nicheacademy.com/durhamcountylibrary/pathway/69110">online, self-paced laser cutter orientation</a> prior to coming to the program (if you haven't already) so that the orientation setup steps are completed.</p> <p><em><strong>Note: If you have any accessibility questions or accommodation needs, please contact us at Maker_STEAM@dconc.gov.
