After that, walk next door to the NC Museum of History for hands-on exhibits about pirates, the Wright Brothers, and North Carolina's musical heritage.
Saturday Afternoon: Outdoor Fun

Saturday Evening: Family Dinner
Bida Manda — This Laotian restaurant in downtown Raleigh is surprisingly kid-friendly, with rice dishes and noodle soups that even picky eaters enjoy.
Sunday: Nature Day
Spend Sunday morning at Prairie Ridge Ecostation, a free nature preserve run by the Museum of Natural Sciences. Kids can explore butterfly gardens, catch tadpoles, and learn about local wildlife.
Then finish the weekend at Lake Johnson Park for an easy lakeside walk and a picnic.
