Under $5 Family Outings
Pullen Park
520 Ashe Ave, RaleighThe playground and park areas are completely free. If you want to ride the train or carousel, rides are just $1.50 each. A family of four can ride everything for about $6 total. Pack a lunch and you have a full day for almost nothing.
My budget move: Pack sandwiches, ride the train once each ($6 for a family of 4), and spend the rest of the time on the free playground. Total: $6.
