Splash Pad Packing List
After hundreds of splash pad visits, here is my perfected packing list:
Essential
Swimsuits (or clothes they can get wet β nobody cares)
Water shoes β splash pads have rough surfaces, and creek beds have rocks
Sunscreen β apply 30 minutes before arriving, reapply every 2 hours
Towels β at least one per person, plus one extra
Change of clothes β dry clothes for the car ride home
Water bottles β staying hydrated while playing in water is still important
Snacks β water play makes kids hungryNice to Have
Swim diapers for babies/toddlers (regular diapers do not work in water)
Sun hat for babies
Pop-up shade tent for a base camp
Waterproof phone case β for photos
Ziplock bags β for wet suits after playSkip These
Water guns β most splash pads discourage them to keep the peace
Inflatable toys β not necessary and can be hazards on splash pad surfaces
Heavy coolers β a small insulated bag is enoughSplash Pad Etiquette
Apply sunscreen before arriving β sunscreen runoff can make splash pad surfaces slippery
